Wagyu
Wagyu refers to all Japanese beef cattle, where 'Wa' means Japanese and 'gyu' means cow.
It is renowned for its high intramuscular marbling and fatty acids (omega -3 and -6) higher monounsaturated fats and also contains conjugated linoleic acid, which is a naturally occurring fatty acid with supposed immune improving properties. But most noticeability, an exquisite, sublime buttery melt in the mouth taste.
At Philippus Farm, the herd of 26 cattle is raised as full-blooded Wagyu, ensuring a stress-free environment and slow growth on a grass-fed diet. This breeding and raising method is chosen to suit traditional needs, which helps to preserve the quality of the meat.
Wynford Hercules is sire to the 2024 full-blooded Wagyu heifers and cows to produce full-blooded pedigree Wagyu. The farm is excited about their breeding program and looks forward to the future of their Philippus Wagyu herd.
Wagyu meat is a unique and high-quality type of beef that is enjoyed by many due to its exquisite taste and texture. The breeding and raising methods used at Philippus Farm ensure the highest quality of meat while also preserving traditional practices.
