Shearing/ grooming stand

I have wanted a shearing stand forever...Initially put off by the price, I knew to do a great job looking after my flock it would be a necessity to us. I previously had a shearer round at a cost of over £100.00 twice a year, he showed me the ropes of shearing. While it was excellent, I knew I wanted to shear my Valais the traditional way which is to do it standing up. In Switzerland they use wooden stands but after researching my options, I chose a black powder coated mesh stand that I hope lasts a good few years.

With the Valais growing to a substantial size I prefer this method and I'm sure they do too. I now need to practice clipping which is intimidating in itself but I'm excited to practice. Blue spray at the ready just incase. Happy New Year.

Hi,

I came accross your site while looking for sheep shearing stands. Like you I don't turn them to shear but it is hard on the back so was looking for a stand that wasn't to expensive.

The Vevor one looks good and is at a good price.
Just wondering how you are finding yours for your Vallais,
I have 4 Vallais, 2 ewes and 2 wethers. All pets, all have become very friendly and they keep my 2 ponies company.

Kind regards

Fiona
